MIXED MEDIA COLLAGE
In these most recent works:
"I start by applying some paint then I draw into the paint with colored pencils and add in bits of paintings that I have cut up. I find fabric scraps that are appealing and imagery that I have gravitated to over the years.  On top of this I add layers of tinted glaze to push and pull areas forward or backwards and also to smooth out the surface edges.

ABOUT HER

ART:

I enjoy exploring new techniques in drawing and printmaking to maintain a unique style.  My desire is to reconstruct a place from memory and create a sense of calm simplicity.  Color composition and form are my most important tools.  I love to loose myself in the journey through the image back to the surface.

"The possibilities of color are wonderful.  A study entrancingly interesting and unlimited.  It is a wise student who has a perfectly balanced clean and well kept pallet.
The effect of brilliancy is to be obtained by the  opposition of cool colors with warm colors, and grave colors with bright colors.
If all the colors are bright there is no
brightness."
